The MARIAS Maria Mini Domina is a classic revisited that tells its own origin story. The huipil of Chichicastenango includes representations of the entire universe, specifically the embroidered peaks around the neck which represent the Sun & the black circles representing the Moon. Together they are the sign of fertility. The small rhomboids are the stars in the heavens & the wavy lines are the seas. This unique bag is one of a kind and handcrafted by an incredibly talented Guatemalan artisan.

MARIAS was founded by Alida Boer in 2011 as a result of her love for fashion and design, appreciation of Guatemalan craftsmanship, and commitment to empowering women. Inspired by the many elaborate techniques she saw while visiting remote regions in her home country of Guatemala, Alida was determined to showcase this artistic heritage on a worldwide scale. She founded MARIAS to blend this artisanal couture with contemporary styles and carry on this beautiful legacy.
